Read, reflect, and be encouraged...

Matthew 4:1–4 (NIV)

Then Jesus was led by the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted  by the devil. After fasting forty days and forty nights, he was hungry. The tempter came to him and said, “If you are the Son of God, tell these stones to become bread.”

Jesus answered, “It is written: ‘Man shall not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God.’”

Luke 4:1–4 (NIV)

Jesus, full of the Holy Spirit, left the Jordan and was led by the Spirit into the wilderness, where for forty days he was tempted by the devil. He ate nothing during those days, and at the end of them he was hungry.

The devil said to him, “If you are the Son of God, tell this stone to become bread.”

Jesus answered, “It is written: ‘Man shall not live on bread alone.’”

Some simple observations for us from Jesus:

  • He was lead by the Spirit!
  • He ate nothing.
  • He was hungry.
  • He was tempted.
  • He responded with scripture.
  • "Man shall not live on bread alone."
  • Man shall live on every word that comes from the mouth of God.
