Costa Rica July 2018 Update #3

August 1, 2018

Ileana Lindenlaub

Hello again from Costa Rica! Today is Tuesday, our second day renovating the church in Purral. We did a lot of hard work today, spiritual as well as physical.

Progress continued inside the church as we worked with the Costa Rican team to dig new plumbing lines and assemble new rafters for the roof. A few of us helped inside, but the majority of us tackled painting the outside of the building. The material of the wall was not easy to paint, but I saw our team work really hard together. I appreciate the spirit of excellence among my team members; it really shows how they care about working for the Lord. The transformation is incredible, and we pray this facelift will make the church stand out in the community.

We are really beginning to realize the immense impact Jesus is having in this community through this church. In the afternoon, Patrick, Kristy and Michele went with a Palmares teammate and a couple people from the local church on a prayer walk in the community of Purral. The heaviness of the spiritual warfare is felt by all. They were able to pray with many members of the community. Patrick prayed with a young man named Jeremy, and it really stood out to him. They also prayed over a plot of land that the church is hoping to acquire. It is right in the middle of a crime-ridden neighborhood, and Jesus can do some amazing work there. Satan is trying to keep his grip on this place, but Jesus is invading. And that puts Satan on the defensive.

Thank you for your continued prayers; we appreciate them greatly. Continue to lift up Purral and the neighborhood here; a tough battle is being fought.

From Lance:

Please continue to pray for the team (including Vineyard Mishawaka AND Palmares). Rayner, our host here, is having mechanical problems with his vehicle, which is intended to be useful for our time here. Also, the battery on the bus died today. So, no more of that would be great!
