Shout joyfully to the Lord, all the earth; Break forth and sing for joy and sing praises. Psalm 98:4

God blessed us with many opportunities to worship and serve him in Honduras today. When we arrived at the church, the people from the village came and we experienced an amazing service and worship on the grounds outside Pastor Nelson’s church. Pastor Nelson, with much enthusiasm, gave a message on raising our voices to the Lord because God sees our hearts and how much we honor him. He called everyone to put a stake in our spiritual territory by raising hands, shouting with praise, dancing with thankfulness!  This experience inspired us as we witnessed these Hondurans that have so little exhibit such richness in their spirit. The presence of our Lord was felt in this place. For all of our team, emotion ran through as we engaged in the worship and praise with our families in Honduras.

“Hardships often prepare ordinary people for an extraordinary destiny.” C.S. Lewis

It was HOT today! But God used each of our gifts to serve in the best way today. Conversations were had and deeper relationships developed. Some of us helped make concrete blocks in 102 degree weather. Some of the guys moved giant stumps and now have welts from fire ants on their hands and feet. We took care of each other as a team with one goal in mind, to be the hands and feet of Jesus in this village today.

The day ended with an amazing homemade Honduran meal. Pastor Arqui’s wife, Minda and ladies from the church made Baleadas that were tortillas with different fillings. What was extra special is that these women gave us an opportunity to make a tortilla which empowered them to show us their skills. After such a physically hard day, it was a comfort and a blessing to be served by the people we were serving. All of the love we pour into these people they pour right back into us.

A generous person will prosper; whoever refreshes others will be refreshed. Proverbs 11:25

We’re eager and excited to experience each new opportunity that God presents us to refresh others. Join us in prayer that we have eyes to see those opportunities to continue to be his hands and feet here in Honduras.
