Kentucky Mission Trip Fall 2022 | Update #1

October 6, 2022

By Lori Crain

Good evening from Princeton Kentucky.

We arrived safely and the team is getting settled in from a long day of travel. On the way, the scenery was pretty with the fall colors and pretty skies. God strategically placed the necessary Chick-Fil-A at just the right spot for dinner. The men and women are on separate floors of the Ogden Memorial United Methodist Church here in town. We have a wonderful host couple (George and Joy) that met us here at the church to show us around.

We met to go over what tomorrow will look like, planned menus, packed lunches to generally prepare. In the morning, we will meet with the project manager to get our work assignments to build on what others have done before us. The Ogden church has a calendar on the common room wall listing all the other teams who have been here and those coming after. This list is an army of God’s volunteers hanging in God’s house.

We will have a small number of members stay here at the church to prepare the menu for the rest of the team. We will rotate this team, so everybody gets a chance to be on the work sites and have the ability to share Jesus and pray with others. As with most group efforts, we have had some challenges as the devil worked to sidetrack this trip; he didn’t win. We are here!

I am excited to see what God will do here in Kentucky. I pray that the team will continue to bond and we can bless many people with hard work, love and prayer. We want to change lives both spiritually and physically.

Please continue to pray for us as we show others what Jesus can do.
