Uganda Mission Trip Day 7
September 18, 2025 | Nancy Fish
Sadly, today has been our last day in Uganda.
We left the house this morning for a trip to Kampala to see where Pastor John grew up and the church where he met his wife Esther and their ministry started.
I am not sure I can find another word to use to describe the traffic and congestion in Kampala (Uganda’s state capital) but pure craziness!!! There are motorcycles, trucks, and people everywhere! Traffic lights seemed to be a suggestion. Motorcycles are used as trucks to carry everything. We saw a motorcycle carry a dining table, bench & four chairs (went by too quickly for a picture). When we stopped a church above the city to see just how big Kampala really is, we said it sounded like the roar of an ocean. So many people and vehicles, it is almost overwhelming.
Upon returning to Entebbe, we treated the team that cooked and took care of us all week to a lunch. We have enjoyed this team, their gracious hospitality and countless number of conversations.
Many of us are excited to see our families in the next 24 hours but also sad that we are leaving our new friends that have become family to us.
We will continue to pray for the children that have made a mark on our hearts. Praying that they will continue to follow Jesus, complete their education, their health, families, and their housing situations. We also pray for the ministries that Jumba, Pastor John and Esther have started here and the countless lives they have and will change for the Kingdom. May the Lord continue to bless them.
