Uganda Mission Trip

Our Vineyard team will work with Pastor Stanley LoNathan and the children of the Dreamland Children’s Home to meet their physical, spiritual and financial needs during their time as refugees in northern Uganda. Team members will focus on children’s programs, medical and evangelistic outreaches.

We have been in partnership with the Dreamland Children’s Home since 2008. After war spread dangerously close to the home in South Sudan, Pastor Stanley and the children of the Dreamland fled to a refugee camp near Arua, Uganda. They are now making a new life for themselves while continuing to pour out Christ to their community.

Trip Cost:

$2,200 - $2,500 (Final cost is dependent upon airline ticket prices) Due in 3 payments:

  • $300 due with the application by Sunday, March 31, 2019
  • $700 due by Sunday, April 28, 2019
  • Balance due by Sunday, September 1, 2019

Please note: The Vineyard will accept donations on your behalf for the mission trip but only for the mission trip fee; not for additional costs listed below.


  • Regular Attender at The Vineyard Church
  • This trip is open to adults ages 18 and older
  • Valid Passport or proof of application for passport due with this application (FYI: allow 6 weeks and approx. $150 for your passport)
  • Good spiritual and physical health

Required Team Meeting:

There will be 2 required team meetings as part of the trip. Dates TBD

Included in Trip Cost:

Airfare and other transportation, Housing/Hotel, Food while in Africa, Entry Visa’s, Health & Emergency Evacuation Insurance

Additional personal expenses not included in the trip cost:         

  • Food while traveling in U.S. and Europe
  • Cost for immunizations & medication (Required: Yellow Fever, Typhoid, DPT, Hepatitis A&B, anti-malaria)
  • Passport costs (FYI: allow 6 weeks and approx. $150 for your passport)
  • Spending money for souvenirs or to give away


Living Arrangements for the team:

Housing will likely be at the YWAM (Youth with a Mission) base in Arua, Uganda. It is dorm-style, bunk beds with shared community bathrooms. Please expect a rustic living situation, with few amenities and cold showers.

Application Instructions:

Complete and return the application to the Resource Center, the Church Office or Kathy Smarrella with a $300 deposit and a copy of your passport by Sunday, March 31.  You will be notified no later than March 17. There are limited spaces available, so it is possible that not everyone will be accepted for this trip.  If you are not selected for this trip, your deposit will be refunded. If you are accepted, no refunds will be given (and there is an expectation that you will cover the full cost of the plane tickets after they are purchased).
